TEGA Americas will be sponsoring driver Kris Martin for the NASCAR Summer Showdown at Delaware Speedway Wednesday July 7th at 8pm.
The race will see Kris competing against NASCAR stars Kyle Busch, David Reutimann and Regan Smith. Kris is a unique driver, facing the challenge of being born deaf. He uses a custom made FM system that plugs into his cochlear implant, allowing him to communicate with his crew chief and spotter.
In the past, Kris has had some doubters at the track who think because he is deaf he will not be able to race. I focus on my ability and not my disability, I know I can drive and once I get in the car, everyone else knows, says Kris.
Kris is very happy to have TEGA Americas as his main sponsor for the race and hopes to bring the car in victory lane. TEGA Americas has been a great supporter and I hope I can do well during the race to thank them for their support says Kris.
Dustin Cote of Strongbridge International and TEGA Americas comments, We are very proud of our association with Kris and his racing team. Of course we are strong believers in his ability as a driver, and have every confidence he will demonstrate his skills at Delaware.
The race will be held near London, Ontario at Delaware Speedway, 1640 Gideon Drive,
Delaware, Ontario.
