Details

Engineered for durability, built to last – Strongbridge’s HDPE electrofusion 90° elbows provide extreme durability and the largest pressure class and size range available. Our industrial-grade HDPE electrofusion 90° elbows are engineered for PE3408, PE4710 & PE100 HDPE pipe systems, and manufactured using PE4710 / PE100 virgin resin for a leak-free system.

Our heavy-duty 90° elbows are fully pressure rated for superior performance. They are lightweight, easy to install, and resistant to chemicals, impacts, corrosion, and abrasion. These electrofusion HDPE fittings provide a seamless connection that allows for the transportation of water, fluids, gas, and slurries within existing HDPE piping systems, eliminating the need for additional fittings or welding.

Our electrofusion 90° elbow joins two lengths of poly pipe on an angle of 90 degrees. It also joins a long spigot fitting to a piece of pipe around a 90° corner. When the fitting is securely attached to the existing HDPE pipe and linked to a Strongbridge electrofusion processor, the outer barcode, containing a 24-digit code with information about the fitting and fusion parameters, is scanned. This ensures a high-quality fusion process. An electric current is then applied to the integrated electrofusion wire coil, which heats the PE4710/100 virgin resin materials, causing them to melt and fuse with the existing pipe.

After cooling down, the 90° elbow forms a reliable and sealed connection, ensuring the smooth flow of fluids. This installation method simplifies the process, guarantees a dependable connection, and facilitates easy expansion or modification of the pipeline.

Technical Notes

Engineered for PE3408, PE4710, PE100 HDPE Pipe Systems.

TEGA electrofusion fittings may be fused at ambient temperatures of between 0°C (+32°F) and +45°C (+115°F). If job site conditions are such that the pipe and fitting temperature is below this range, the installer should use a tent and heater to warm the pipe and electrofusion fitting to within the allowable temperature range. Special care should be taken to provide a balanced temperature level of both pipes and fittings before fitment and fusion operation.
