Additional Notes
Reading and fully understanding all instructions is important before attempting any electrofusion work. Permanent field installations should only be undertaken by operators who have completed an electrofusion training course, which includes classroom and hands-on installation training, offered by a Strongbridge International, LLC (“Strongbridge”) authorized instructor knowledgeable in polyethylene electrofusion installation procedures. The training program must include, as part of the curriculum, the operator successfully making an electrofusion connection that passes pressure testing per ASTM F2164 (Standard Practice for Field Leak Testing of Polyethylene Pressure Piping Systems Using Hydrostatic Pressure) and destructive testing under U.S. D.O.T. 192.283.
*For Level 3 (L-3) and Level 4 (L-4) Training, advanced fusion techs must have at least five (5) years as certified fusion techs and must be currently certified, with electrofusion as part of their everyday scope of work.
